Vitality Goalden Globes 2019

2019 Vitality Goalden Globe Awards celebrate incredible contributions of volunteers 

The 2019 Vitality Goalden Globe Awards took place on Saturday 14th July, as England Netball recognised and celebrated the fantastic contributions of our incredible volunteers.  

Set in the picturesque St. George’s Hall in Liverpool, the event had a Vitality Netball World Cup flavour with the each table named after a legend of the game. Vitality Roses Kadeen and Sasha Corbin were also in attendance to hand out awards to the deserving recipients, 4 of which were from the East region!

Congratulations to, Jan Burke, Sheelagh Redpath, Brian Worrell and Gloria Keech who all received awards at the Vitality Goalden Globe Awards. 

National Long Service Award - Jan Burke: 

Jan Burke was awarded with the National Long Service Award, given to those who have given selfless and outstanding service of 25 years or more by way of administration, coaching or umpiring.
Jan’s volunteering spans various roles over 33 years.  Very close to her heart is her current role, EN Ambassador to UK Armed Forces Netball, which she took up in 2014.

National Rose Award – Sheelagh Redpath and Brian Worrell:

Sheelagh Redpath and Brian Worrell received the National Rose award for their exceptional contributions to netball within the last 12 months.This special honour is awarded to a nominee(s) for a notable contribution to Netball in any capacity, which can encompass any aspect of the game and its administration.
Through their work Sheelagh and Brian have worked tirelessly as volunteers to establish a National Archive for Netball that is accessible to the whole netball family. They encouraged, enabled and motivated a team of volunteers over many years to take in interest in the history and heritage of the sport through the process of sifting and cataloging over 75 years of netball records and memorabilia.

EN Honorary Life Membership - Gloria Keech:

The event was capped off with England Netball welcoming Gloria Keech as a new EN Honorary Life Members in recognition   Gloria Keech is an outstanding volunteer for Netball, fulfilling many significant roles over 30 years. Gloria still dedicates over 40 hours a week to netball as a volunteer in her current roles at County, Regional and National levels.
