East celebrates at the National Vitality GGA 2020

 

Following the East celebrations, each of the East Regional Winners were invited to England Netball’s Vitality Goalden Globe Awards.  The event took place on Thursday 10th December, through a virtual presentation evening to recognise the outstanding contributions they make to our sport.  

The East Region’s Goalden Globe winners joined other nominees and guests.   The Evening was a lovely event which included player appearances from Clare Balding, Serena Guthrie, Jade Clarke and many other guest celebrating all the National volunteers. 

IN THE GOALDEN GLOBES SECTION, THE EAST CELEBRATED 3 NATIONAL WINNERS!

  • Congratulations to Myra Hawtree from Norfolk, who won the National Unsung Hero award.
  • Congratulations to Helen Preston from East Essex who won the Mary Bulloch award.
  • Congratulations to Crosskeys NC from Hertfordshire who won the Outstanding Netball Club of the Year.


A great achievement for all three of our ‘National GGA Winners’. 

Topping off the night were the following accolades given to East volunteers 

The Rose Award
Congratulations to the Watford Netball League who received a Rose Award for all the work carried out by the league committee and volunteers. England Netball Honorary Life Membership was awarded to Paul Clark and Gary Burgess in recognition of their huge contribution to the development of netball within the region and nationally.

Paul Clark, East Regional Chair and Gary Burgess, International Umpire and EN’s head of officiating were awarded this prestigious award in recognition of their work and contribution to the development of Netball, regionally and nationally. Congratulations to Paul and Gary.

The night also saw two East region legends being inducted into the England Netball Hall of Fame.  Huge congratulations to Maggie Jackson MBE and HLM from Bedfordshire and Jo Harten from East Essex and EN National Rose.
