The Pride of the East Awards 2021
Netball East are pleased to announce the Pride of the East Awards
As you may be aware, England Netball have confirmed that there won’t be a Goalden Globes Awards event for this year.
However, it’s been a tough year for many, and we wanted to celebrate and recognise volunteer members within our Netball East family.
The Pride of East Awards aim to recognise the many individuals, club or groups who have gone above and beyond to support netball and the greater community during these challenging times.
We want to acknowledge and celebrate as many volunteers as possible. To do this, we need your support - below are a few ways you can help:
Step 1: Nominate your ‘lockdown legend’
There are four award categories:
- Youth Netball Lockdown Legend (under 25)
- Netball Lockdown Legend (over 25)
- Youth Community Lockdown Legend (under 25)
- Community Lockdown Legend (over 25)
Your nominees could have:
- made magical things happen in either the community or the netball family
- worked in the NHS, volunteered in a community organisation, fundraised, made PPE, or organised collections for local food banks etc
- been a coach, official, player, committee member, COVID-19 officer, or other volunteer role.
Winners will receive a pin badge and certificate to recognise their achievement.

Step 2: Design-a-pin badge competition
In addition to a certificate, all winners will receive a pin badge – which we would like a Netball East member to design! To enter your design, use the attached template and email your entry to NEPrideOfTheEast@gmail.com by Saturday, 31 July 2021. See the attached document for full details.
The design should reflect the pride in our netball family. The winner will be announced in August.
Step 3: Help us spread the word
Please follow @NetballEast on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and ‘like’ and ‘share’ related posts amongst your netball-networks to encourage nominations.
You can also spread the word at club events.

Virtual awards will take place, by county, in September 2021. Dates will be communicated in due course.
